Breathtaking Aboriginal Australian art is woven in to these handmade chain stitch Kashmir wool rugs. All the artists own their art and are paid a regular royalty for its use under the Indigenous Art Code.  Each one comes with a description of the art and its meaning to the artist as well as a certificate of authenticity for the artist and artisan who wove the rug. Fair Trade produced from wool in Kashmir. Dimensions: length 91 cm, width 61 cm.

Artist: Kurun Warun.

Description: Kurun Warun is a Gunditjmara man who is also a decendant of Truganini, the sadly famous last indigenous Tasmanian queen. This painting shows the fire stick plant. Its long stem and fibrous top end made it perfect for hand made fire, an important technology to Aboriginal people living the traditional life.
